America's Bible Identity

Stars + Stripes Presidential Seal of the USA

"... he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great ..."

THE GREAT SEAL OF THE U.S.A.

John Adams Thomas Jefferson Benjamin Franklin

HISTORY OF THE SEAL

From records available it is known that Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, after having been appointed by the "Continental Congress" to submit designs for a new national crest or seal, all submitted designs relating to the history of God's people Israel. They were aware of a divine will that was over their destiny. Of these, Franklin and Jefferson, working independently, submitted a similar design portraying Moses leading Israel out of Egypt.

When a design was finally adopted. The story of the Exodus and the scripture concerning God bearing Israel forth on eagle's wings (Exodus 19:4) caused the symbol of the eagle to be chosen as the foundation of the Great Seal.

BIBLE ORIGINS

Manasseh was the thirteenth tribe of Israel. Whether by coincidence or design on the American Seal, they placed 13 stars (as on the original flag), 13 constellations, 13 stripes, 13 arrows, 13 olive berries, 13 olive leaves and 13 letters to their motto: "E Pluribus Unum" meaning "One among many".

Manasseh was indeed one among many tribes, and since God had said that "Joseph (the father of Manasseh) shall have two portions", Ephraim became the twelfth tribe of Israel, and Manasseh the thirteenth (Ezekiel 47:13, Genesis 48:22).

Reverse of Seal

THE REVERSE SIDE

On the reverse side of the Seal, the designers put a pyramid with 13 layers of stone, crowned by a Chief Corner Stone in which they drew the all-seeing Eye of God, and surrounding it two mottos. The first had 13 letters and the second 17.
They read as follows:

Annuit Coeptis -- He hath prospered our beginning.

Novus Ordo Seclorum -- An old order of the ages is born anew.

It is also curious that the symbols used on the crest or Seal of the U.S.A. are all symbols used in the Bible to describe the nation of Israel. For instance, stars and constellations are used symbolically for Israel in Genesis 37:9-11, and in Revelation 12:1.

Again, in Genesis 49:22 we are told that "Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well (of water); whose branches run over the well (in spreading out and colonising)." These branches are mentioned by Hosea as pertaining to the olive tree: "I will be as dew unto Israel ... and his beauty shall be as the olive tree" (Hosea 14:5-6).

THE INCIDENCE OF THIRTEEN

The apostle Paul likewise used the olive tree to describe Israel (Romans 11:24). Today we find the American crest displaying 13 olive leaves and 13 olive berries. Did all these symbols find their way into the crest by chance only? Or did our omnipotent Creator inspire such a design?

Finally, there are 13 arrows on this crest. Arrows are mentioned in Numbers 24:5-8 to typify Israel's unconquerable strength in warfare: "He shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows". In Genesis 49:23-24, there is a similar reference:

"The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him. But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob".

Manasseh -- the United States of America, became England's westward colony, remaining so until an appointed time in God's divine plan, when the nation would be made a separate people, outside Ephraim's company of nations (Genesis 48:19). This separation, under the American Act of Independence took place in 1776.

The American war of independance was inspired by God so that the promises to Joseph could be fulfilled in his two sons (Genesis 48:19). Isaiah 49:20 describes Britain's colenisation after America was lost to her in 1776.

A WARNING:

No "nation" is saved. Only the church. Although steeped in Israel's identification, the U.S.A. is crumbling under her own godlessness. What a tragedy to see the people of this gifted nation become their own god, self sufficient, trusting in their own capacities!

Despite their prophetic identification, genuine Holy Spirit revival is needed to save them as well as all other peoples of the earth.
